Job Description

The School Chef is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school kitchen. This includes menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring that all students and staff receive nutritious, balanced meals in a safe and clean environment. The Chef will play a key role in fostering a healthy eating culture within our school community.

Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning: Create weekly/monthly rotating menus that are nutritionally balanced, appealing to children/teenagers, and cost-effective.

  • Special Diets: Manage and prepare alternative meals for students with documented allergies or specific dietary requirements.

  • Quality Control: Ensure all meals are prepared to a high standard, focusing on freshness and flavor while minimizing processed ingredients.

  • Food Safety: Maintain a rigorous cleaning schedule. Ensure the kitchen meets or exceeds local health department regulations

  • Equipment Care: Ensure all kitchen machinery and tools are maintained, cleaned, and reported for repair if faulty.
  • Liturgical Events: Provide special catering for school feast days, staff retreats, or parish events as required.

  • Hospitality: Model the school’s values of service and kindness when interacting with students and staff during meal service.

Required Skills/Characteristics
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in high-volume catering (schools, hospitals, or hotels preferred).

  • Nutrition Knowledge: Solid understanding of child/adolescent nutritional needs and portion control.

  • Punctuality: Ability to manage a strict schedule so that meals are served precisely on time.

  • Cleanliness: An obsession with kitchen hygiene and personal grooming.

  • A practising Catholic with a strong understanding of Catholic traditions.

Job Description
The Administrative Secretary Intern will support the school’s front-office operations with a primary focus on digital systems management. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual looking to gain experience in educational administration, database management, and professional communication.
Responsibilities
  • Attendance Tracking: Maintain daily digital records for students, flag recurring absences to senior administration.

  • Data Integrity: Periodically audit the school management platform to ensure student contact information is up to date.

  • Parent Liaison: Draft and distribute formal notices, event reminders, and emergency alerts to parents via email or SMS platforms.

  • Reception Duties: Greet visitors, answer phone inquiries, and direct parents to the appropriate departments.

  • Confidentiality: Handle sensitive student information with 100% confidentiality 

  • Technical Support: Act as the first point of contact for teachers or parents struggling to log into the school portal.

Required Skills/Characteristics

  • A practising Catholic with a strong understanding of Catholic traditions.
  • Tech Savviness: High proficiency in Google Workspace/MS Office and comfort learning new School Management Systems

  • Writing Skills: Strong command of grammar and a professional yet warm tone for parent communications.

  • Organization: Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Discretion: A high level of integrity when handling private academic and personal records.
